We're hard at work, raising tents, putting out flags, getting ready for the big day. We had special help today from the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission who sent two TrashCat™ trash skimmers built by United Marine International to clean debris from the Hackensack River.

River Restoration personnel from the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission were on hand to answer questions from those who came by to watch the crews at work. We went out on the river with the crews to observe and photograph these incredible machines.

The front of the craft has vertical conveyor belts that grab debris in the water and pull it toward the slanted conveyor belt which deposits the debris in the container that sits at the back of the boat.
